Just a thought
Your love for Jesus was but a moment’s gift at that October confession those long, silent years ago, but it was a raging hunger that only grew stronger as you fell in love, over and over, with your new beloved brother and Lord JESUS.
What did He say to you in those many hours spent at His feet, listening for a whisper and a kiss of peace?
Every word you wrote was inscribed in the ink of longing to share your passion for His Nazareth life. Now, little Charles of Jesus, you can rest your head upon His breast and listen to that Heart that beats so clearly with your name.
Can you give me some of your secrets? Can you unfold in my heart some fire that still burns in your own?
Can you tell me in your poor words how to be another lover of Him in my desert, in my dry and barren life that seems to go nowhere?
Pray not for me, dear little friend, but pray with me, and teach me to pray with that trust and wild abandon beyond all measure, for with Jesus you sleep and rise in the arms of your Father, happy at last to see the Face of God.
Place me good God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit with this man of many lives, that I too may be transfigured into the communion of the saints.
