Religious Communities

Inspired by the spirituality of Saint Charles de Foucauld, a number of religious communities have been founded throughout the world. Each one expresses, in its own way, his call to prayer, simplicity, fraternity, service, and a life close to the poorest. The dates below indicate the year in which each community was founded.

Secular Communities and Fraternities

The spirituality of Saint Charles de Foucauld is also lived by lay people and diocesan priests throughout the world. Through different forms of commitment and fraternity, they seek to live the Gospel in the spirit of Nazareth, through prayer, simplicity, fraternity, service, and universal brotherhood.

Lay Fraternity of Charles de Foucauld

An international fraternity of lay people inspired by the spirituality of Charles de Foucauld. Today, the fraternity is present throughout the world, with communities in Latin America and North America, as well as in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

Priestly Fraternity Jesus Caritas

A fraternity of diocesan priests inspired by Charles de Foucauld, seeking to place prayer, fraternity, simplicity, and closeness to the people they serve at the heart of their priestly ministry.

Online Fraternities

Inspired by the spirituality of Saint Charles de Foucauld, these online fraternities gather through Zoom for prayer, reflection, and sharing. They offer a way to grow in faith and friendship across distances, in the spirit of simplicity and universal brotherhood.

Companions of Charles de Foucauld

An online fraternity whose current members are based in the United States, welcoming participants from anywhere in the world. Through Zoom meetings, the Companions come together for prayer, reflection, and sharing, seeking to live the Gospel in the spirit of Charles de Foucauld.

Zoom meetings take place on the first Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. EST.

WORLDWIDE

International Friends of Charles de Foucauld

An online fraternity bringing together friends of Charles de Foucauld from around the world. Through Zoom meetings, participants share prayer, reflection, and friendship, discovering how his spirituality is lived in different cultures and everyday situations.

Zoom meetings take place on the first Sunday of every month at 12:00 p.m. EST, 5:00 p.m. London time, and 6:00 p.m. France time.
